But, I'm not selling....
I wanted to see what people thought of where a hot rod had dropped to today.
I know, sort of, what my 911 was worth 3 years ago when I was offered money and the agreed value of the car was given by 2 sources and accepted by Hagerty.
If I dump all I have in the garage then it would not be now, all prices are down unless the car is special, fashionable etc.

If you are getting rid of all these things then you want the best price and that will be when demand is high as it was 3 years ago.

For 100K he will be offered some great original cars that would have cost a lot more 3 years ago.
Buying when the market is down is good if you can.

Sounds like your car meets the criteria. Must be wife friendly. Strange coincidence

Perhaps it would be worth chopping in the old girl for a younger model? You could still follow the "hot rod" theme as I understand they often come with modifications, even straight off the showroom floor.

You'll lose the tinkering and sounds/smells that come with the older models of course, but even the latest versions can be tempted to be tail happy with the right persuasion.

Indeed!
I'm sure the Wanted advert is sincere and a co-incidence otherwise he may have approached me directly.
The Boxster is mostly the problem. The allure of going on a trip in it rather than the 911 has eroded the '911 need'.

However, too many things happening and getting to the end of 33 years with the 911 and 30 years of hillclimbing, it is coming to an end.
We are planning a BIG EURO TOUR next year, my 70th on this planet in the ...Boxster re tracing the many fab places we have been to over 45 years of knowing each other!

As I said before, this thinking is far greater than the 911, it is just a slice of the cake in general.

We have even thought of a total sell-up and buy a GR Yaris.

I'm not sure your car is worth less than 3 years ago albeit I don't know what you think it was worth then as you've not said.

Why not put it up for sale at the price you want and see what happens. There are never many well sorted early cars for sale, hot rod or not.

If it doesn't sell then you've not lost anything.

Although I suspect you don't really want to sell.......might placate the missus for a bit if it's up for sale anyway
