Looks like a John Lewis Balti bowl could be the answer.

Nothing wrong with that. I took a mould from my wife’s favourite bowl for my 914 bonnet filler…..

Looks like we have a winner with the Balti bowl, one dog bowl and one mixing bowl in the scrap pile though. I've found Dog bowls and mixing bowls are ridiculously thin and its the shape that gives them rigidity.

Big day today, the media blasting is finally finished. Blasting the smugglers box wasn't fun, massive blowback.

Thanks Matt,
Remembered that I still need to do the rear ARB mounts, think I'm going to make my own that meet up to the torsion tube. To ensure the mounts are in the right place I decided to order the bar which arrived today from Tech 9's eBay shop for a great price.

Looks like Rose passion do the rest of the components for about £160 including the bits I need to weld onto the trailing arms. Was just about to order but was wondering if I'm better off making my own links, thought's welcome.

All I have to add on this is that on my significantly lowered 3.2 with 15 inch wheels, the drop links are the lowest thing under the car, about 100mm off the ground. If there's some arrangement that lifts them up a bit such as having them oriented upwards instead of down, I'd go for that.

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

Thanks Rob I'll bare that in mind. Haven't progressed the plan for the ARB setup but I think I'll make my own up rather than use the original type of drop links.
Steady progress with panel fitting and shaping the arches. The approach I've taken is multiple passes on all panel adjusting as I go rather than spending too long one a single element.

My door adjustment tool can be seen in the foreground, sacrificial hex hinge bolts fitted in place of the lovely new ones supplied by Kirk.

Almost there with panel gaps now, really pleased with the bonnet and wings. Takes a bit of time to tune into it but I'm quite enjoying it now. Really makes a difference to the look of the shell as the gaps get better.
Top of the leading edge of the door needed some infill.

Almost there, just needs a bit of hand filing to finish.

Hopefully back on the car next week. Thought I'd give this an MOT and a polish.

Also planning on making a roof rack to carry my bike, having a google came up with this image.

This might be the start of a slippery slope as I've started looking at light pods and BF Goodrich All terrain. Oh and I was given tube bender at the tip by an old guy last year.......

Looks like I'm finally up and running again.

Just got round to sorting out the agreed valuation for the 3.2 Carrera, couldn't recommend John highly enough for this.

Trying not got get distracted by the fact I recently found these on Facebook marketplace for £40, not sure if I need to lower the spindles to fit them or if I can just re-index enough to raise without running out of damper travel.

Wasn't sure where to start again with the ST but in the end decided to get the tank finished. I've been running this as a side job as its been quite fiddly but thought it would be nice to complete it.
Balti bowl is now welded in place, big relief was that it was polished stainless rather than chrome. Found a nice stainless fitting for the drain, big thanks to Kirk for recommending something fairy wide to help with stopping it getting blocked and having enough flow for the British weather.

Really pleased with how the tank is looking, I've ordered some satin black 2K to finish it as well as the drain pipe, P clip and hose clips to properly complete it.

Decided on a nice easy Friday morning job. Too a while for me to realise what the brackets on the heel board were there for;

Imageluggage by richard cannings, on Flickr

I removed them and the brackets with the captive nuts a while ago and was going to sell them but luckily didn't get round to it before realising they were used to secure the spare wheel one some ST's.

Really to have been able to repurpose the bits I removed.

Manged to paint the tank this morning and bake it in the sun all day, pleased with how its come out. I think it needs a slightly morematt finish but I'm happy to have got some paint on for now. Gave a 2 thick coats of epoxy followed by 2 coats of 2K satin while still wet.

Excellent work Rich!

I should think your ST will end up costing about a 10th of mine but with a similar quality of craftsmanship!
