Really pleased with the finish I've got with the Raptor, spraying with a 2.0 tip gun and its just got a slight texture.

Nice bike Rich! I’ve been out on my e-bike again recently with this decent weather - good for the soul!

Very nice Matt, I didn't really get why ebikes were so popular until I tried one. It was only round a car park but really impressed. Maybe next time! Full suspension was a bit of a leap for me, on my last ride I was 10K in until I realised the rear shock was locked out.

Finally sprayed some Tangerine today, really loving it.

Emtb ‘s are great . I’ve mountain biked since 1988 when I used to race … recenlty in my ‘old age’ I’ve road biked and done less and less mtb as apart from the downhills didn’t really enjoy it much anymore

Last year my wife wanted an emtb so-she could cycle with me ( last time she rode with me was 30 years ago and she ended up crying ! ) .. anyway , after a quick ride round the car park we ended up buying 2 new bikes. Best think we’ve ever done. Now we can cycle together in the lakes , stop and have a beer or 2 and then arrive back at the house having had a great time ….. but even more for me I now go out maybe every once a week by myself and can actually enjoy a full trail ride .

Emtbs are the best thing that could happen to me for mountain biking

Amen to that! But I do still like the odd outing on my old ‘acoustic’ full-susser…Image

Mrs B rented a eMTB, while I had a regular MTB, last year in Ibiza. She spent 2 hours telling me to speed up. Thank goodness it was limited on the down hills or I would of been cycling home on my own.

Nice to hear so much positivity regarding ebikes, they really do seem to be finding their place for many people. Southern Enduro race series now has a specific ebike category, it really is impressive seeing them come past on the uphill sections.
Car looks great MIke, I think the decision is pretty much made for tangerine.

Gave the engine lid a quick polish with 1500grit wet and dry and then G3 and it came up nicely, will probably go to 2000 when doing it properly.

Seam sealing is now all finished;

Image2023-03-09_02-10-20 by richard cannings, on Flickr

Everything had now had a black guide coat and is being sanded ready for top cost with 600grit by hand or 320 grit on the DA, DeWalt 18v DA sander is so much nicer to use than having the compressor running for the air sander.

Painting has begun. Thought I'd start with the smallest bits and work up to the bigger ones.

Oh and managed to get some Raptor tinted in Tangerine so will give the underside a coat of this before the top coat so the stone chips don't show as badly.
A bigger bit with panels loosely fitted waiting for paint.

Exciting indeed! Two tangerine STs coming together nicely - but with very different approaches!

Thanks all, feels like I'm getting somewhere.
Had a break from painting Orange.

Got the shell in the booth which seems like a milestone. Plan was to paint both sides and the roof in one but I don't think the booth is really big enough and the fast activator is too fast, seems to flash off within a couple of mins. Did think about buying some slower stuff but think ill use what I've got as I've got used to it, haven't had a run yet which I'm putting down to the speed of it. Think I'll basically use the gutters to divide it into 3 sections.
