So a couple of months on and the body still looks the same in the pictures, but a lot of work has been done. Mostly involved sanding, filling, blocking and more coats. The bumpers have had some more sorting to improve fit.

Just a couple of extra mods to complete and then onto the final prep and paint.

Thanks Roy

So managed to get the 356 GT bumper trims from Paul at PRS. Fitting involved a little heat around the tight bends particularly at the front.

Looking to cut them about 20 mm back from the end of the bumper and fill the hole and round off the ends. I guess will need to TIG some ali to fill the hole.

So I have booked a track lap at CLM which will add some focus to getting finished and likely a few very late nights!

The engine rebuild should be finished for collection 27th April. Went to the body shop this morning, going to paint next week! The refurbished gauges via Julian Reap should be ready next week. Order 2 1/2 leather hides from most likely UK Hide Ltd, Garry at Classic FX is upholstering the front seats, door cards, dash and should be ready May/June. Steve Fulcher locally is preparing a black alcantara headliner to fit along with biscuit box weave carpet in May. Need to organise a few parts, Tyres 165/70/15 CN36 Pirelli Centurantos from Longstone, gearbox mounts, carpet kit from Lakewell etc and get the door top surrounds chromed.

Then onto final assembly.

Pics as of this morning;

Leather straps front and back holes drilled, rivnuts fitted after paint

My favorite final detail the through bonnet fuel fill

The metal ring used to form the circle and return is actually used for Macramé :shock: I believe using a steel ring is how Emory Motor sports complete the mod.

Managed to create the magic "To Do" list, some I can start on now and others will need to wait until final assembly. Suspect a lot of actions not even made it on the list yet.
