Clutch wows continue. Seems to be the flywheel depth has been machined wrong for the pressure plate and disc. Need to check

So early tomorrow morning one last trip to PRS for standard 180 mm flywheel / clutch and disc and hope that works.

I'm not really a 356 fan, bit too old for me, but this car really looks great, perfect result for all the hard work involved.
Hope it serves you well in the next years to come.

Greg, You could have had better luck than that with the clutch. You didn't advise the symptoms but will you be putting a 356A flywheel on and tell me will a late style diaphragm version be fitted to suit the 356 B release bearing set up you have? Guess there is no difference between the A-C flywheels?
Hope you get that sorted and everthing then works well.

So its been a frustrating few days. Got to the point at 4:30 pm yesterday and had reached the conclusion that just not going to CLM. Deffo a low point.

The flywheel guy kept quoting the wrong part number for the clutch diaphragm. Fortunately another trip to PRS and Paul, Mark and Clare managed to pull a rabbit out of a hat and get the right parts. The guys are super knowledgeable and helpful. The flywheel used the 356B pressure plate, clutch disc and had already been converted to the B throw out bearing. We fitted the parts torqued up to 400 ft lbs. Fitted the engine back in, remote oil filter, panels, electrics, fuel line and accelerator rod. Adjusted the clutch at the pedal. Set off up the road. Massive difference proper pocket rocket. Wonderful!

Then half way up a slight hill engine died. This was 4:30 pm yesterday afternoon.

It felt like there was no fuel. Looking into the tank showed it was low. I had rebuilt the fuel tank tap and must have set it wrong, not being able to read German. Bezzy mate had not given up and found the tap issue.

Quick fuel top up and off again managed 15 smile miles. No to loose momentum we went to a local classic car show. We arrived late, managing to get a pint and the last cold burger. Plenty of interest. Completed a 100 miles yesterday. We did an oil change to day, checked valves and all over the car.

So setting off tomorrow morning for CLM. Many up, downs, cuts and bruises. I now have the chance to go, cant ask for more at the stage.
