Aluminium window frame crack repair

My window frames are very slightly cracked in the upper rear corners. I’d like to get them polished up and anodised but feel they are a bit weak to withstand that process.

How are these repaired? Welding?

They are assembled in the car at the minute in Barry’s workshop.
It’s the rear leg to upper joint that has cracked. Does this come apart?

Are they not joined at that point?

Maybe it’s not a crack then!

Correct. You will see tiny screws on each side of the frame which are screwed into a steel L bracket. They are a old git to remove. I recommend giving them a soak in WD40 or the like before attempting to split them. Crack on...

Excellent! I guess just the previous polishing and anodising covered it up the join.

I'm not taking it apart, but at least it gives me some confidence to handle the parts knowing they are bolted together.

Gary, just looked at my stock frames in the rear top corners.
Both have hairline cracks on the outside, solid uncraked corners everywhere else.
They do not come apart, factory welded and perfectly dressed before anodising.

Imho, leave them well alone. :)
