I have an adaptor from the 30mm thread size to the other size (whatever that is). If you end up finding a pipe of the size you don't need, then let me know. I had it made and then ended up not using it. It's lurking in my spare parts box somewhere. I don't remember the measurements, but I can dig it out over the weekend if it might be of use.

I mean crimping the original hose with a new collar, if enough of it's left.

so , having decided the heat exchanger was coming off , I took the easy option and got my porsche specialist down the road to do this job for me as I didnt want to have to deal with potential snapped studs etc

Anyway, as it turns out when Mike Bainbridge rebuilt the motor the studs had coating on them so the heat exchangers popped of no problems at all , but both needed removing to allow access to replace the oil line.

Re the oil line, we sourced a new OEM one for about £125 from design911 so at that price wasnt worth messing on with repairing the original .. although have boxed up the original for another day just in case

Thanks for the update.

Our cars seem to be the same year, 73', so I assume that yours had the M30 nut - I didn't know that the pipe with M30 nut was available from Design911 (they don't list it with the nut size) - could you confirm the part number please? :bounce: :cyclopsani:

Sounds like the old one came off OK - do you know if any special method was used at the oil pump end e.g. heated with gas torch?

Thanks again!

Both ends had been off within the past 12 years when the motor was rebuilt so nothing was seized

Think the pipe was this one ( my mechanic sourced it for me ) … for a 2.4S and 2.7RS ( both have front oil cooler )

Ah, my car is a T, and the connection on the end of the hose is straight, and attaches directly to the oil tank - oh well !

Thanks anyway :cherry:
