Been 7 years since I originated a spread sheet, so paper and pen for me this morning.
Bill/904 has the Clewitt too and likes it, chosen by MB Eng too so has credibility. That must be about £2K?
Have to remember that I don't have to do the whole hog at once, just prepare for it, ie machine heads ans add the 36-1 wheel etc but can kick-off on the ignition I have now and rev to 7100.

Bill has three coils/CDI units. 2 opposing plugs per CDI. He said it was something to do with getting the spark larger for plugs

No, not sure about how to estimate that
Have £ quotes from suppliers in UK that are the same as us $ x exchange rate
Cams are expensive and will try
Kent cams to see if there is a price difference
Responses to questions from the USA is immediate, many UK suppliers don’t reply....

from memory .. ((price of part + shipping) + 4.5% duty) + 20 %vat on the lot .

either way I've always found price in dollars is pretty much the price in £'s by the time it has landed .. although I've not imported anything from the US for years

Yes, that was the rule of thumb when I did my hot rods.
It is a mine field, but the cam kit would add about £350 to HMG

I think I can get the rods from England via one of the dealers but harder to ensure the correct spec is actually ordered.
Pistons from Design911, everything all paid for no Brexit c@ap.
Need to dig a bit deeper.

A call to Kent Cams to see what they can do as andytat has done in the past could save the money, but certainly the hassle.
Wife still on board, just. :|

The best way to pay for stuff in $ is to get a revolut card. You almost get market fx rates. TransferWise is pretty good too but mostly for bank transfer

Kent gave me a quote for a pair of billet cams at circa £760 incl VAT a few months ago
Cheers

Thanks Mike. I'll try to get them tomorrow or Friday to discuss.
Andytat has had some off them, so just a matter of agreeing the spec.

Anyone know if the stock rockers will run 8K rpm on these aggressive cams?

Kent cams not particularly interested. Will only make me some cams specified to me by the likes of Tuttlis, doubt that will happen.

24 hours later and Kent Cams have come up trumps.
They have the GE60 cam (same spec as the Dougherty 60 spec) and racing springs at a good price and no duty hassle etc.
Ordering those Monday.
Pauter rods on 8 weeks delivery, so ordering those tomorrow.
Need to check that Wossner pistons will have deep enough pockets for the GE60 cam lift, email sent.

Coming together.
Wife still very much on-board. :drunken:

Great news that Kent have come good.
I think, like with a lot of companies you need to be speaking to
a like minded individual who gets on board with what you need.
Sounds like the project is really taking shape now.
Now Porsche less and sad.
