What's different about the hinges?
Looking so good now, getting closer to using it this summer too. :)

That wrap is very very itchy!

Yep, it's truly nasty stuff, beers have been dispatched to Paul by way of apology!
The hinges are lighter, better looking and rust free, lets face it we don't want to see messy old hinges on that lovely clean chassis now do we! ;-)

All the best
Ian F.

PS. Thanks Keith.

Hi All
Things are moving on at a pace!
The rear bulkhead is in place and messy vinyl trim/pad (along with the evidence of my shoddy gluing skills) has been deleted.
I love the way the car is progressing...

Hi Guys
Here's the latest pics of the my 550 , the exhaust is now finished, the clam is reattached and with the exception of the electrics the rear is pretty much complete.

This is what 'we' started with...

This is what we have now...

Paul was able to reuse my old tail-pipe.

Jeez that will be nice and loud!

Looking great… you will need a good chassis cleaning regime! Paul will refuse to work on a dirty one!

Hi Guys
It’s been a while, so to start us off here’s the first of a couple of updates on my car...
On Friday Paul picked up (from darkest Kent) these rather cool ali’ inner sill panels.

More pics to follow tomorrow.

All the best
Ian F.

PS. Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement for the last few posts!

Hi Guys
Here's some more of Paul's work over the last few weeks...
The electrics are finished (the old ones were a horror story) plus the new oil lines are in and primed.

This is what we started with in the 'frunk'...

Image

And this is it with new tidy, safe, non fire hazard wiring, plus oil cooler and lightweight battery (moved from the rear).

Image

Paul has also remade the messy old fuel filler and tided up the tank.

Image

The rear also has all new electrics, oil lines and a rather smart remote oil filter

More updates tomorrow...

All the best
Ian F.

NB. sorry about the size of the first pic ;-)

Right this is the last updates for last weeks work.
I've always found that given the interior is what we spend most time sat infront of (and in contact with), that so many reps. fall short on this front (not on here obviously). So with this in mind here's how mine's progressing...

As it was...

Image

Scarry fuse box.

Image

As it is now with a 'proper' dash and a new indicator stalk (and so much more ;-) )...

Image

Nice original (and safe) style fuse box.

Image

The replica 'dimple dia'd' inner stills, twin fuel pumps and new floor should be going in as I type.
It goes with out saying I'm in a very happy place with my car right now!

Stay tuned for more news as it happens...

All the best
Ian F.

Wonderful work. From one that has been through a build programme, I appreciate how much effort has been expended, I doff my cap or should I say 'bunnet"!
