Just a heads up.

A member has Kindly informed me of a PM received offering similar parts to those that have been advertised on the forum

Would seem a scam and I'm investigating but please beware

If you get offered parts via PM from anyone who hasn't posted on the forum let me know - one or two may have slipped through the net

Another case today

A new account slipped through the net and was offering a member parts they had posted a wanted ad for

The account has been deactivated but please keep your eyes open ask questions and if it does;t seem legit it probably isn't

Report it to me and I can ban them

Usually the accounts offering these are a few days old. Click on the users profile, look at when they joined and search their previous posts

2 have slipped through so far and I can see a few more have tried to register so please be vigilante

Might be worth putting your warning post in the "wanted parts / misc" forum, as a sticky? Just a thought.

Raise the alarm and let me know but don’t part with cash - usually if you ask for actual details or images they won’t be able to help - they just respond to wanted adverts

Be careful as some slip through the net

So scammers can't PM now until they have made a number of posts - so their latest effort is to reply to wanted adverts saying they have the part or their friend has it and to email them - DON'T

Report them to me so I can be abusive and receive some of my pent up aggression on the little scroats
