The brick one in the background with the bay window is for sale at the moment, just the price of three 73RS’s... and by the way, no garage!

If you'd taken the photo at a different time of the day, perhaps the shadows wouldn't have been so problematical ?

If anyone is inspired by Mikes photos, Phil Raby has just got a back one in. No idea if its a good one and no affiliation.

Yep, it’s been doing the rounds of dealers and auctions for a while now. An import from New Zealand, it’s not really regarded as a true Club Sport as it has rear seats, comfort fronts instead of the hardbacks, air-con and a conventional key boot release. Nice car otherwise, just needs to be priced correctly.

Thanks for asking Mike, and have to say I'm loving it...

It's taken a few months to get used to it, you're sitting quite low with the steering wheel at an odd angle after a 911/993, but I have to say coming from the 993 this is so much more fun! One of the contributing factors to letting the 993 go was that although it was the most beautiful car to own, it wasn't doing it for me as far as the driving experience was concerned. By that I mean it was too capable, too smooth, to compliant and easy going, felt all a bit to solid and on the heavy side to be a really fun experience.

The CS on the other hand, just wants to play, it's a more visceral feel that's dare I say almost Ferrari like in it's feedback, you certainly know your driving it which to me is what it's all about. It loves to rev, the higher the better which is to do with the variocam system apparently, as opposed to a varioram... just don't ask me to explain the difference!

It's great for the roads around me, predominantly fast cross country with flowing bends and this is where the handling differences are so obvious. No more slow in fast out style of driving, just keep the speed and round it goes, incredible cornering ability which is were the fun is.

A lot of the feel might have something to do with the seat, the original Recaro hardback is fantastic, can't believe how comfortable it is even over longer runs. Kicking myself a bit as I bought a pair of immaculate 968 comfort seats thinking they would be better for a run to CLM and so on, but no think I'm staying with these. People have mentioned it's the later SPG's and Pole Positions which came tighter and harder that are much more uncomfortable.

So now with the new Cargraphic exhaust it's proving to be everything I'd hoped for, twice the fun but half the money of the 993. I know it's a very original and rare classic, but no need to wrap it in cotton wool, it's waxed on the underside to within an inch of it's life, so it's getting used over winter.

OK so maybe not so 'cool' as a 911, a word much liked here, but not one in my vocabulary. Only downside is forget trying to pull out into traffic, nobody's going to let you in with a bloody great Club Sport written down the side! Easy to take the decal off though and paint the wheels silver and nobody would look twice, maybe when I'm really old.....
