I restored a stock Italian TV Series 3 5 years ago, utterly bog standard warts and all.

Before I bought my latest Honda project I looked for a suitable Series 3. None.

All gone. If you want a complete one to do tough to spot one, or find about 6K to buy an Li 125 (with a 175 conversion) all done.

Pattern spares are awful, hence complete original starting point essential. Everything is expensive too.

Yes, it was. Now in Wales.
It was my first early retirement project. Had a tuned one in the very late 60's, Wildcat 225cc bloody frightening machine, I nearly went under a bus, so bought my first car, a Herald 12/50.
The GT225 cost me £5, sold it for £15, the Herald was £100.

Fab!
Never got to ride the Lambretta, sold in 20 mins of being advertised. Like the Honda I did after, should have built a real shed for them and kept them.

If you restored the tv225 I think that would be worth a good sum. All of the original 60s tuned bikes are going for big money. Nice bike mate

Dead right.
Prob went to a scrap yard. It was a UK bike and my pride and joy as a 17 year old.
There was a group of us with Lambrettas and the odd Vespa, but then one broke ranks and bought a Honda 125 on HP. It ended up in the back of a bus 2 weeks later.

The TV front disc was evil, never got mine to work well, the drum on my Li 150 Ser 2 was much better. That floating disc was hard to get to slide freely.

I Know what you mean I’m now about to put my front disc together again on my GP200.
If only we knew what they would be worth. I’ve had about 11 Lambrettas and two were
SX200s.

Was going to sell the GP to help with the car funds but didn’t have the heart.

Thanks Lee

Some lovely Scoots on here. Ideally looking for a standard Series 3 LI 150 or 125, original paint with some patina, in need of re-commissioning rather than a full on restoration (yes I know - I'm not asking for much am I...)

In the mean time I'll just have to make do with my 60s style scooter smock, freshly liberated from lock-down in Brighton after my brother picked it up for me

Ha!
Still got my Parka!!
My mother threw my hand-painted Union Jack helmet away when I sold the GT and bought my first car. She hated those Lambretta's….

Finding a real Li of any size, original etc will be a needle-in-a-haystack, and not cheap.
No Lammy is cheap anymore.

My white TV above would be a 7 to 8K bike now, just 5 years after I sold it for what I thought was a greedy £4k.
My first Honda, the bike after the TV I also sold for £4k and that was snapped-up in 30 mins, sold unseen, again a £6k bike now.

Here's the GT, circa 1969

Image

And the TV when I bought it circa 1992. It was restored in 2015

The chap down south I think was selling it all off about 2 years back. I think he was head of the Lambretta Owners Club?

With 55 scooters in one garage, no wonder there are none left!

Strange as I’m helping a friend tomorrow get a series 2 Li150 up and running from a museum.

Will ask around...
