Apologies to those that have seen these on instagram already but the car is now nearly back to standard. Cage has now fully gone (and been sold), Bertone badges fitted to the front wings (couldnt face drilling so cut the pegs off and used adhesive tape).

Next phase is reinstating the airbox in the engine bay - means the GTA trumpets will go, but I am not a huge fan of those on road cars given I want to use this car when possible in Autumn/Winter. Test fitting today. Not the prettiest lump, but in the spirit of getting this car back closer to stock, in it goes.

I think you've done the right thing - it looks great. It's amazing how little the bumpers weigh being stainless.

Jonno
Your car is now the spitting image of my old Sprint GT (excluding the interior). Absolutely bloody lovely!

All the best

Looks great Jonno.

I recently bought a 66 GTV from Belgium which has spent a lots of years as a rally car, and was rebuilt four years ago. Now working through making it more "wife" friendly. Not returning to stock (has a 2.0 TS engine, uprated brakes, roll cage and buckets), but am in two minds about bumpers - they look pretty cute with them (but cost a few ££'s - none came with the car).

I think bumperless looks great on the GTAs where the cut out grilles look spot on but on a non GTA i think bumpers look better - i was lucky the car came with its original bumpers and that they are in decent condition.

Agreed - your big chin comment made me laugh (reminded me of a long departed uncle).

As its so far from original (incl colour being Giallo Fly) I may sort cut outs in the valance.

Updated engine porn. Repro FISPA transfer on top of air filter housing - took me back to my hand-shaking Airfix water transfer application days. Clear coat on top and looks good.

A snatched winter drive between showers and salt. Heater fully tested, working perfectly. Bicester Scramble the next outing all being well.

Jonathan,

Are you able to give any more details on your suspension set up (shocks, springs/ride height). Just trying to work out whats best to do with mine.

Thanks

Lockdown in Tier 4 job....replace knackered door check strap on the passenger door. One of those very annoying things that just need sorting.

Not too difficult, just another of those "take your time" jobs...particularly when removing and replacing the pin that holds the strap! Best not hit the bodywork with a rubber mallet etc. Great thing about these cars is the fantastic parts availability and super quick service from Classic Alfa. Just makes it all a real pleasure to work on.

Seen better days...
