LHD RST Wanted in Vibrant Interesting Colour

Post by RENNSPORT CLASSICS »

I have a client for a LHD RST in an interesting vibrant 70's colour. Prefer a car that has not been fully restored unless it has a full photographic record. Top budget for a high quality original car if available.

I still require a LHD 2.4 up to £100K.

Thanks Mark

What is top budget for an RS now in these uncertain times? Every one I’ve see recently seems to be POA so no one really knows.

Regards
Mike

I think we'd all like to know the answer to that one.... or are we only to be used to do your leg work?

If any one wants any advice Mike they know all they have to do is pick up the phone or PM me. Pricing cars is complicated and depends on many factors not least of all to establish first if the car is actually what it purports to be especially if original finishes are not present. That is why I set up VIN-PRINT Forensic Services and I am still finding fake cars across all marques.

Generally prices range from the price of a good replica RS at less than £200K to the most I have achieved for an RST £750K. This was a car that was in its first paint never restored and never needed to be. Everything else is graded in between.

Most buyers want any faults rectified within the price they perceive the car will be worth when the car is finished and with restoration costs climbing, tens of thousands of pounds are at stake the value of which may have to be taken off the price of the car for it to sell. That is the reality of a buyers market.

My new Forensic Studio opened in Betchworth in Surrey in March I setup so that a car can be inspected thoroughly prior to purchase. I have dedicated lighting and a two and four poster ramp for the purpose. Any one wanting to sell a car I suggest takes as many photographs above, inside and underneath the car to provide as much information as possible to go with any history, work carried out and provenance. I describe this as full disclosure and it enables a prospective buyer to fully understand what he/she is buying and to make an informed decision. The more detail is provided the more it facilitates a sale. Even adding a video of the car starting from cold and being driven adds to the buying experience. All of this can now be carried out at my premises which can be rented for the purpose at £250.00 per day or I can carry out this service for you at a modest charge.

We are restoring a LHD RST right now. All matching Nbs, off the road since the late 80s. Could be for sale but as the others say getting the value is proving difficult in these current crazy times.

I’d have thought 90% of them will be in the £300s now isn’t it?

The value is what someone will pay today not what was paid last week or last time one sold. The only way to find out is to offer one for sale. Or to try to buy one that’s not openly for sale.

Above has been advertised in the Magazines for months too.

Majordad is correct, any car/thing is worth what someone is willing to pay at the time of the handshake. Convincing someone that it is worth what you want is another thing, esp if there are alternatives.
