Very good unaided car knowledge, but one car is incorrect and another isn't quite correct but near as dammit.

That's correct for 7 but not 4

Correct Andy. Apparently Colin Dexter was furious when the TV production company
changed it for the Jag and John Thaw hated driving it according to his wife and others.
Theories for changing from a classic Lancia to the Jag were
1. British public wouldn't be able to relate to a foreign classic car.
2. But most likely because you need 2 vehicles in the same colour for this
type of show in case of accidents or breakdowns. It would have been difficult and
expensive to source 2 classic Lancia's in the same colour.
Also Colin Dexter didn't mention a model. Most seem to guess it would have
probably been an Aurelia or Flaminia.

Ah I see, I was assuming it was the car belonging to the character, but you are looking for a Vauxhall Magnum.

So 7 must be Kojak.

I can’t remember what he drove, but will guess at a Cadillac....

No idea on the others that are left at all. I think the Columbo Peugeot was a 304 convertible?
