G Wagen on demo

Post by Tp81 »

I have this for a week's demo, very impressed so far. Considering changing my defender and not convinced with the positioning of the new one.

Pretty sure with the right tyres on this it would go anywhere.

Have you seen a new Defender? We had a good look over them at the LA Car Show in December, I was very impressed by the design features and it looks much better than the G Wagen

Disagree nick ... had a good look round one yesterday at the agriculture show I was working at and for the money they charge I think it’s just so so .... from the rear looks like an oversized mini clubman

I dunno... I think a new defender in black with the right wheels and accoutrements would still enable a fairly brisk trade in drugs. Done well, of course.

Does look dull in Silver.

G looks mean, .... maybe a bit big for bigs sake for me.

:)
Best

Matt

The G class looks superb and a great update, while the Defender looks somewhat over-styled to me.

I’m a big fan of Defenders having owned a 110, but the new one appears to prioritise fashion over function with all those adventure accessories bolted on so owners can admire them in the mirrors.

Accessories apart, it looks much closer in concept to my current Discovery 4 than a Defender - so they’ve probably nailed their biggest market

Agree about the Mini Clubman but would add that the front plastic mouth looks like the old Freelander. On 'roids

Land Rover has vacated the utility 4x4 market with the new Defender and Ineos has decided to fill it. The Grenadier May be just the thing.... https://ineosgrenadier.com/?gclid=EAIaI ... gLoTvD_BwE

can't comment on recent models but in the past had a Range Rover and a Defender - both shite. The alternator fell off the Defender when it was about 3 months old!. Had 3 G's, 280GS, 300GL, 500GS all wonderful - sadly can't afford to buy or run these days.
