With or without...

Post by KS »

My car has optioned with the 'Porsche' stripes from day one, but as I'm now shaving the ghastly side marker lights and swapping the bumpers to lightweight glassfibre ones, I'm debating on whether to keep the stripe or not.

Any thoughts?

It’s 50/50 in my opinion, I’d only keep them as they were an original item.

I would get rid of that aerial on the wing, it can only be a source of rust and other grief.

The problem with the aerial is that the (two-pack) paint is about 15 years old and I want to avoid having to paint areas which will stand out. The side markers are not so bad as they are on a small area of vertical surface, while the aerial is bang on top. If the car ever gets repainted (or has GT flares installed) the aerial will definitely go.

Personally never been a fan of the negative side stripes, so for me, and just me by the looks of it, without

However I do like the positive stripes.

Or, offset white over black for a subtle drop shadow?

You mentioned in another thread that you're going to be putting 7R's on - will they have black centres too or will they be 'conventional' finish ?

If the latter, how about the negative side stripes in another colour - eg dark green or brown ?
