Hi, Ive removed the front bumper and want to remove the deco trim. 10mm Nuts are spinning and not coming off. Are the bolts in slots on the trim? can you remove the rubber moulding to get to the bolts ? I've looked at a few picture an looks like the bolts slot into the trim piece so should not spin unless they have rusty and rounded inside the trim
Thanks
Danny

I once did this job on my car and from memory the studs are mounted onto little square plates that sit behind the rubber, the lower part of the studs I believe is a square profile which protrudes through a square cutout in the aluminium and are probably designed to lock in place whilst you tighten/undo the nuts, unfortunately I found on mine that the cutouts were far bigger than they needed to be, consequently when trying to remove the nuts (which probably hadn’t been touched for 50 years!) it was quite easy to overcome the locking function and get the studs to rotate in the trim.
I think from memory I managed to get mine all undone by getting a flat blade screw driver between the back of the nut and the bumper, applying a levering force between said faces whilst undoing the nut allowed my to effectively lock the studs in place just enough to overcome the resistance between the nut and stud. It was a bit of a game but got them all off eventually.
Best of luck!

I ended up grinding the nut and end of the stud off on a few of mine.
Once the trim is off you can slide the remains out.

Yes they are screws on plates and they break, you can get replacement ones but ones that I got were not great. As yours are broken you might as well grind them off.
