I bought my C4 in 2002 for £15k and have had a long and happy ownership, all over Scotland and Europe. It was a pretty car, and a pretty good car, and then I put on Bilsteins and a g pipe, and it became a wonderful car. There is nothing like the noise a sorted 964 makes, and C4s are loads of fun when set up right.

I fixed all the rust but it needs engine work now, mainly for the OEM oil leaks, which I dont really have time or money for, so I guess I have to sell it. I’ll get round to doing the ad one day :(

So, question: is the 964 a 'classic' or a 'modern'?

I would definitely vote classic for any air cooled car now. Even the early Boxsters are starting to be considered so, as they are over 20+ years old. That is open for debate but the air / water cooling provides a nice clean divide.

Mine in it’s current state of disrepair, still not rolling but getting there slowly. The inch or so of dust makes it look like a semi convincing barn find!

Question is: would you do 964 articles in the mag?

Or are you asking “should you?”

80s cars are definitely classics to me.
90s, not so sure

It's a hard one, indeed. However...

To me it's the best of both, a modern classic
