It's actually Dunkel Blau, as it's a backdated 88. It's the original colour though.

Thanks for the correction!
The color from the first one looked different, so I thought you had more than one!
It's a good looking car! Image

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

The backdated 3.2 Carrera are among the best-looking Porsches ever in my view. They combine the sleek 60's body shape, chrome trim & Fuchs wheels, with the wide stance. Factor in the light weight and powerful engine and it's a fabulous car.

So apparently there are few people on the board - and also over on ESR - questioning whether I am a genuine enthusiast and owner, or just a timewaster / parts flipper and I thought I'd better post a few pictures of my cars - neither of which are in the UK yet - in order to demonstrate my credentials.

The '72T is still in a container aboard NYK Romulus and is docked at Halifax, Nova Scotia at the moment with an estimated date of arrival in Southampton of November 26th but I won't be surprised if that slips further (it was originally supposed to be here on November 11th):

I have bought a complete but dismantled 2.4S engine from 210bhp, 2 sets of Scheel GT sliders from recarno on ESR, Marchal Ampliluxes from a friend of Kirk's, harnesses and fire extinguisher from stretch and reserved a pair of Recaro 13.28.00s from dizzycap, plus made a load of purchases via eBay, including restored front brake calipers, SB19/20/21 headlight housings & lenses, 380mm wheel (being recovered by jtparr at the moment) and so on. I'm also about to go and pick up a standard/standard crankshaft and a mag small fan housing and strap this week. I've also been regularly in communication with HughH, Kirk, stretch, darren65 (who I met yesterday and had a run in his fabulous Mongrel), camperco, and others about '72 S/Ts generally and the GeLo Racing Team S/T in particular.

The '72 S is finally with Dr.K's mechanic, having had to wait for 2 months for new CN36's to arrive, so he told me yesterday, and is now having a full service, new shocks, new tires, new exhaust, MFI redone and all door and window rubber seals replaced prior to a full road test and any other identified issues sorted prior to it being shipped to me in the New Year.

So please don't think I am wasting anyone's time when I am posting "WTB's" for parts for my '72 S/T as I have a huge list of period-correct parts still to source. It is a genuine, serious project and I am grateful to all those who have already responded to me positively over the past few months.

Cools cars. Given on your 46 posts on DDK only 1 has been advertising something for sale I'd hate to think any accusations have been aimed at you from here.

Thanks Bootsy.

I wasn’t too sure of the posting protocol on forums like this but Kirk has been a huge help to me offline. I’ll be posting WTBs far less, if at all, now and will stick to my posting on my build thread when the car is here and continue to trawl eBay etc for parts.

Thanks Darren, it was great to meet you too.

The ship is just off the Isle of Wight at the moment according to MarineTraffic, so not long now! Have completed all the customs import forms and returned them to Kingstown Shipping so just the 5% VAT to pay next!
