Hi has anyone used Rennsport Classics for their Sports Seats which are a replica of the Recaro Sports seat. I am debating whether to go for vinyl or leather and views appreciated on anyone who has tried either?
Many thanks
Mike

I've got a set in leather, but not replicas of the reclining Recaros. Mine are kind-of replicas of Recaro fixed buckets.
I think they are good value for money. The leather is a bit "modern" (too matt) for my tastes, but that can be dealt with. They are nowhere near authentic in terms of construction or stitching patterns etc, so only a loose replica, but the recliners might be closer to the real thing. On construction the fact that the Rennsports have a steel frame (TUV approved) not a 50-year-old fibreglass bucket does make them seem a bit safer. They feel pretty solid.
You probably know that they are made by BF Torino. More info on the BF Torino website.

Hi I didn't know they were made by BF Torino so thanks for the info.
I also wasn't sure of the look of the leather so was potentially going for the vinyl and basketweave.

That looks a good price although I am after the recliners with basketweave centres. I looked on the BF Torino webpage and Rennsport seem to be cheaper which seems bizarre, 698 Euros each compared to £553 GBP unless they are not including VAT then its virtually the same price unless I am missing something.
Cheers
Mike

From the Rennsport website:
“PRICES - All prices listed exclude delivery, and exclude VAT where applicable as above.”

I’ve contacted Rennsport re their seats before and the prices vary depending on FX rate etc so I would taken their listed price as a guide and enquire.
I have a pair of their sports seats in vinyl / cord and they are excellent.

I’ve also had the vinyl/cord sports seats for many years (and miles!) and they are really good. Still as new.

They look very nice so Rennsport is the only outlet as BF Torino say that is their recognised agent and they now only sell through them. However they both seem to be a similar price when you add VAT to the Rennsport price.
Cheers

I went with The Rennsport seats in basketweave but find they sit a little high. I read one of Timo's posts and may apply the same logic if the seats don't settle. I loved the original seats for comfort in a straight line but any corner had me tilted right over so definite improvement in driving although need to be lower.
