I would love a POLO motor...just for the bragging rights :)

I spoke with Dean a few years ago (many) and have mentioned this elsewhere before...The original plan for my ModRod build was to use a 4-cylinder engine. Back then I think I could have done it for 25K...which was way out of my league ! Dean was great though, very proud of his work and rightly so. and as he said 25k compared to a 4-cam motor is a bargain :)

I know Rod Emory has used Deans engines...his latest 356 RSR build uses a Jeff Gamroth built motor. Jeff does amazing work and re-built my gearbox.

Of course it always will divide opinion...911 vs 912...Flat 6 vs quick Flat 4...but I'd draw the line buying a Boxster :)

If I could afford it, I would definitely be fitting a POLO motor to my '67 912, or maybe a twin plug Benton built

Im going over to California this summer to see Dean Polopolus and John Benton so might pop in to see Rod Emory as well as he's making 356 Outlaws converted to RHD and interested to see the set up. I will take lots of photos and learn to post them.

I bet one of the 356 Outlaws is telephone book money though
Your engine plans are awesome.
Totally excessive
Totally unnecessary
And absolutely the right thing to do Image
In my mind absolutely the right thing to do and unlike a 356 you do not have to chop the engine bay about and everything is reversible. Once I have paid Dean a visit and got the Kit I will let you know how I get on and the costs involved.

The Turbo would totally over power the car so I wouldn't go that way

As Chris Pomades says "Imagine having 911 power with the handling of a 912 - best of both worlds for me :bounce:

Thanks for all the comments and links it's much appreciated and what a friendly group of people DDK are.
