Hi Feroz
Very nice indeed, look forward to hearing all about it.

Coincidentally my 69 S had race Yokos on it when bought, and I switched to Pirelli CN36s per Andy's suggestion above.
Highly recommended - it made a huge difference to the feel of the car. Less grip of course, but still fine for me.

Enjoy!

Cheers, Richard.

Hi Andy

Yes, took me a while but got there in the end! I agree re the tyres, seats and steering wheel they were the first things on my list. That’s a good tip re the tyres, will check out the CN36.

Any suggestions re seats? I want something period looking but they need to be supportive enough for the odd track-day. Alfaholics do some nice looking low back buckets but would be great to have a few alternatives.

Regards

Feroz

Thanks Richard, looking forward to catching up. Agreed, for my intended use a sporting road tyre is probably best.

.

Seats are very personal items but my favourite seat for a modified GTV would be a replica Fusina :

- expensive though !

Also check out the usual suspects - OMP, Corbeau, D'Eser, Cobra, etc ...

Hi Feroz
Just a quick note to say both Alfaholics and Classic Alfa sell Nardi and Hellebore wooden wheels for Typo 105 alfas. The Hellebore is as used in the GTA and (to me) feels great.
For some reason thin rimed and 'slightly' larger steering wheels always felt nicer and more in character than 'fat', small ones!
Alfaholics also make a repo GTA 'Stradale' drivers seat thats about as comfy as I've been in a road going Sprint GT/GTA.
I hope some of this helps...

All the best
Ian F.

Hi Andy - Liking that Fusina seat, looks very good. Who makes a good replica? I will check the usual suspects but would ideally like to find something that was associated with Alfa’s of the period.

Hi Ian - I found the wood rimmed wheels less comfortable but will have another look. A slightly larger wheel will help with the heavy steering at slow speeds although it’s fine when on the move. I am due to try the Alfaholics seats which look great but I want to make sure fit. I see you are London based, who do you use to look after your cars?

Thanks

I don't know of a UK supplier of the replica Fusina seats - they're available from Autodelta in Italy (from whom I think Alfaholics get their GTA seats, etc) & various others such as Berni Motori (Abarth specialist) ...

Hi Feroz
Sadly (well not sadly really) I no longer live in London (I'm now up in 'The Lakes', really must update my profile!), sold my 64 Sprint GT a fair while ago now, the man (Bob Dove) I'd recommend has move on (to the West Country).
For what it's worth I'd wait and take the car down to the Banks brothers at Alfaholics, they (and Richard, their dad) really know their stuff with modified 105s.
Be careful tho, a trip to their stores can seriously mess with your Alfas wants & needs list!

All the best
Ian F.

Nice one feroz- very cool. Presume you’ve seen the chris Harris alphaholics 290 review? Think I’ve watched it about 59 times now

Feroz,

I bought these through Alfaholics, I know they look quite high backed but in realty they aren't. The head rest is too low to provide any meaningful support / protection.

More than happy to take some better pictures if you want, they are really comfortable.

This is the one I have with a quick release boss which is nice and brings it out slightly which helps. I have never liked wooden steering wheels but it is surprising nice to hold.

This looks lovely if you would prefer leather.

I am probably only slightly behind you ... I suspect that video had a lot to do with my purchase!

Thanks for the picture and links Tom, those are the seats I was thinking of and that Momo California wheel looks like it would be perfect. Good to hear the seats are comfortable.

This is what I had in mind for the interior
