DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

Having had my ’79 Targa stripped, there are surely areas inside the tunnel that I have not covered while spraying epoxy primer in the gaps.
What have others done?
- ignore it
- use cavity wax (won’t wiring, gear linkage, etc get covered when they are refitted)
- spray epoxy primer using the cavity wax lance
- used magic
/ something else (if so, what please, not just yes )

Using something to protect it seems a good idea to me.
I used Bilt Hamber Dynax S-50 to give the tunnel (and other parts) some decent long lasting protection.
It didn't really affect fitting the loom etc, although your hands do get a bit sticky in the process.

It is thixotropic, I have normally thinned it with white spirt. It sets to hard wax like substance. I have never had rust form or come through it.

Normally spray it in cavities, and underbody areas. Goes on very easily.

Dinitrol have some really good products.

Apparently it is used on oil rigs and by the Swedish and Norwegian Navy.

I used the Waxoil, now Dinitrol or the same as Dinitrol in 1989 and the stuff is still in there.
I used it everywhere after all that welding back then and all is well.
Get it hot before spraying and if you can have the car good and warm too so it will search into the joints.
Becomes good and thick when cool and does not migrate of any surface.

I intend to use Corolan Active in the cavities but have some Dinitrol, so I'll give that a go in the tunnel. Just waiting for my Aluminium epoxy primer(from Rust Buster) to dry (swing arms, front cross-member, front hubs and breather take-off). Still need to strip the steering rack and gear shift to be painted Ally.
