Yet another thread that I have completely missed. Great looking car and the best colour! Congratulations. You have built a wonderful collection.
Kind regards

Gitesh, thanks for the kind words. I am delighted with this car, feels really special. Just something about the way it drives.

My local independent laughs at how long it takes to compress the post lift in the workshop, nice and light.

My car has been idle of late. Had to move it from its storage place in my mother's garage, sadly my mother passed away just before Christmas, completely out of the blue. :( It makes you realise what is important in life. Collecting my car from the house was sad and a few tears were shed....I can still see her in my mind watching me reverse in with a smile on her face. I keep my cars very private (locally) and my mum always enjoyed seeing them or having the Alfa tucked away in her garage.

On the night I collected the car from her house, the weather was mild and I used the Carrera to collect a curry from town. It seemed the right thing to do with the car having sat for a few months, it was nice to get back in and enjoy the sound and feel of the car. The drive home was aggressive and fast (hot curry and the way I felt), I found myself grinning from ear to ear loving the car and thinking of my mum. I loved every minute of the drive.

More recently it has taken up residence in my local detailer's unit. He is happy to have it, work on it and store it for the remainder fo the winter. Works well for both of us.

Some pictures he has sent over recently, the car is coming up really well.

I took the opportunity to clean the inside of the glass on the lenses.

Clean and treated inside now.

Tom,
Sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds as if you kept your mum close, geographically and in contact, and I hope she and your family cherished that.
Best wishes, Richard.

Very sorry to hear of your loss Tom. I lost my dad in 2018 and miss him every day but when I think of him now, I smile rather than feel sad. Time and good memories make all the difference.
The force is strong in this one ......

Sorry to hear about your mum - but that's a lovely image you depicted of her smiling face as you reverse your car into her garage ...

I lost my mother mid last year so I can appreciate what you’re feeling...time helps and as Yoda says...it’s the happy memories that are the best ones

Hope you’re ok

Thanks, very much appreciated.

A lot of people have said it was such a sad time to lose a loved one at Christmas, I know that anytime is sad, there is no good time. Christmas was nice to have time with my wife and kids and as you say, think back fondly of all the happy times.

I've not read much on DDK of late Tom and hadn't seen this, so sorry to hear of your loss.

These times certainly make you focus on the things that truly matter.......wishing you all the best with a dose of good fortune going forwards.
