Repa static belts to inertia reel conversion

Post by 911GP »

Hi,
I have the Repa jelly bean style receivers with the corresponding tongues with the round holes and would like to convert these to inertia reel set but am concerned about the tongue sliding along the webbing freely. If any of you have done this with these belts, can you please share your experiences?
Thanks

Hi Gitesh,

It can be done and is exactly as the Autoflug inertia reels that were used in 911's prior to the RePa's from 72 and up. You have to transfer the tongue to the inertia reel. Some stitching involved...but the webbing used in Autoflug reels had thicker (like 3 point fixed RePa webbng) webbing than the RePa inertia. Plus Autoflugs have a plastic divider on the hip part which is not easy to find. Basically the Autoflug inertia is a combination of their reels and RePa's 3 point fixed seat belts.
