Porsches on the Prom - Llandudno - 20th May, 2018.

Post by Arfor Jones »

The annual gathering of Porsches on the Promenade in Llandudno will take place on Sunday 20th May, 2018.

All Porsches are welcome - air-cooled/water-cooled/2WD/4WD/front/mid/rear-engined.

Entrance to the promenade is opposite the St George's Hotel.

Cars will be arriving from about 10.00 am and PCGB membership is not required.

Good weather has been ordered, but delivery cannot always be guaranteed... :)

Request from the local authorities: if your car sometimes leaves a calling card, please bring a drip-tray or suchlike.

As a classic biased Porsche event there are going to be a lot of trays...!

There won't be an abundance of drip trays because, sadly, the classics are far outnumbered by the newer models!

Are you planning to come along, Gary?

Currently nothing in the diary, so I may come along and make my own unique pattern of oil stains on the prom!

Cannot come this year, it clashes with a big hillclimb event I'm doing, but for anyone who has not been, it really is a great day.
Good luck with it all Arfor, another record attendance maybe!

The weather forecasters are expecting bright sunny weather in Llandudno on Sunday.

Any other DDKers planning to make the trip?

Change of plan for me as I’m off to Silverstone instead. Hope there is a good turn out on the prom!

Any up-date on this event?
I would have expected a lot of cars there, maybe a record number?

Plenty of pics and stuff on Facebook Graham. Search Porsche 996 Carrera Owners page for starters.

Thank you, but I am not on Facebook!
I'm the only person on this planet who is not.

I see on Facebook someone is non too happy. Got their car scratched by enthusiastic spectators while parked on the prom. Always a risk I suppose.

The weather was warm and sunny all day, and another record was set with over 680 cars on the Promenade.

It was quite a spectacle and most models were represented, including several 356s, but I didn't see a 912 although there was a 912E on display.

There are several videos of the event on You Tube.

And Graham, neither do I belong to Facebook!
