I remember those days well, especially on our Bug-chassis'd Series II LR. L-shaped cuts for strength, level floor, 4x2s, marker pens and a ball of strong string for diagonal measurement. I believe a laser rule was aimed at one point for checking precision string alignment but that may have just been local sniper training. Full marks if you did this on your own without grumpy teenage help?
