Re: Bo'ness Hillclimb 2017 - 3rd & 4th September
Don't think that I'll be able to make it (again!) this year.
We are entered for the MSA Leaders round at Doune on 17/18th June, and also hope to be up for the autumn one on 16/17th September, assuming that we haven't been scared out of our minds by the first visit.
I have tried to talk She-who-must-be-obeyed (another Margaret.....) into a fortnight's holiday in Scotland in between Bo'ness and Doune, but with no success so far.
Hope you have a great time. If you have a chance, come along to the Doune meetings to cheer us on, and calm our nerves!!

Will be along for the usual banter & shenanigans.
It was good to meet you at the weekend Jonathan albeit for a brief chat. You will enjoy Doune it's a really good track.
Ended up to be a very busy and eventful weekend, never a dull moment with the hillclimbers.

3rd and 4th are Sun/Mon is there a bank holiday or something?
Clashes with Prescott; looks to be a good event up north.

Hello Margaret, where've you been all year? Great to hear you are doing it Brendan! Need to get my ass in gear and renew my MSA and get signed up for this.
Going to get Spa out of the way and then decide which car to do the hillclimb in.
Also longer term wondering about doing the Ingliston sprint next year..?

Both Margaret and I survived the first day with Margaret posting her fastest time ever and me a full 2 seconds behind her!
Never had a chance to take a picture but hopefully take some tomorrow.

Re: Bo'ness Hillclimb 2017 - 2nd & 3rd September 2017
No Johnny. Not wet.
I was there as a spectator. A few photos and several videos of the guys (and girls) going up the run but sadly no idea how to post here.
Biggest improvement for a ddker was rookie Brendan who improved by 6 seconds or so over the two days but the quickest, smoothest, best looking driver was Margaret who held off the rest by posting the quickest time on both days.
I'm sure everyone tries very hard on the hill and they are not always aware of the differences between cars/drivers as they all run one after the other in the same class but as a spectator it was quite obvious Margaret keep the power on up the hill through the second left handed whereas everyone else lifts off just a little. Margaret's upshifts are smoother and quicker and she even managed a wave to the crowd up the last timed run.
Brendan improved no end on the last run when his travelling mechanic Mike (Bainbridge) popped the number 6 spark lead back on (he had a tenner on Margaret to win lol) but just couldn't get any closer to Margaret's time.
A very enjoyable day. In between her hill climbing runs Margaret made everyone very welcome and hosted bacon butties, hot coffees and teas etc from her motorhome. Big thanks too to Tom for hospitality of the highest order. Great ddk banter with Mike, Alan and others.
A few really nice (and quick) cars. Love the Escorts. They are still pretty explosive and very competitive on what is effectively a mini tarmac rally stage.
If anyone knows the procedure for posting an iPhone vid on here I'll do my best to do it.
Regards
Mike
