Your car is in very safe hands with Tim. He's one of the 'off radar' guys but turns out some very nice quality work. I wouldn't worry about the timescale either - it only took me 20 years!

If you get the chance when you next speak to Tim you could ask to see his other current projects located elsewhere (not too far from your car) to see what he is capable of. Apart from the front end he was quite complementary about your shell too.

Thanks Ralph, good to hear. I had a very good look at the 2.7 RS shell that he has just finished the metalwork on. Very impressive. He did mention a couple of other projects that he had ongoing, so I will take your advice and arrange to have a look next time.

Regards
Paul

Whilst the car is still in for surgery, I took Graham's advice and installed a new garage floor. I couldn't resist the temptation to add a bit of bling...

Despite watching the installation video and Graham saying it took 1/2 a day to install his, it took me about 1/2 a day to trim the edge tiles by hand. A circular saw table would of made it very easy. I still have one edge to complete, but I'm very happy with the result so far.

Hopefully I'll be able to post some restoration progress soon.

LHS is now pretty much finished. Unfortunately the RHS inner wing got lost in transit by the delivery company somehow, so a new one has been ordered.

The petrol tank surround now joins the inner wing without a patchwork of panels

LHS inner wing hasn't been removed yet

Clearly this has been repaired many times. Hopefully the new panel will be stronger and lighter

RHS Inner wing has arrived and some repairs have been made to a section of the original which will stay on the car.

The final tank support panel has arrived from restoration design as its not available from Porsche, which means it can now be finished.... That's not my bonnet, just a spare one to ensure everything is aligned.

Here's the remaining hole

Tank support panel which looks very good in my layman's eyes.

Inner wing (From Dansk) needed quite a bit of adjustment

Hopefully the metalwork will be complete by the end of next week, but Tim has 4 other 911's at various stages of restoration.

Paul, it's getting there and the quality looks good. Hope you get it back while there's still some summer left...
Cheers, Richard.
