A minor update.

Whilst the trumpets look and sound great I didn't really want them filling with water. So I cut a couple of perspex shields



The original design was larger than the opening, designed to wedge between the grill and the lid, but the overlap was visible and looked naff so I cut them to fit in the opening and taped them into place



And then epoxied them with clear glue.



Which with the grill refitted makes them all but invisible from top or bottom. It also means water can only run over them not behind them.

So with the engine back in it was time to get on with the plumbing



With the oil tank moved to the '72 position I needed to find somewhere for the thermostat and oil filter outside of the engine bay.



With a bit of head scratching and not a small amount of cursing, I finally managed to get both to fit in behind the rear bumper.





And made up a protective stone guard.



The fuel filter was relocated under the seat pan, you can just about see the end of it here if you look closely.

With the engine running well and all the parts that would be hidden tested it was time to fit the covers
