This one?
Looks like someone found the barn and sold it back when barns were more valuable than the car inside

go to http://www.carandclassic.co.uk, select porsche, scotland 1970's and this is on the list. It is the green one above.

Says it only needs panels and has a velour interior.... RHD and my favourite colour.....

The word "all" is missing before the word "panels".

Originally Sepia brown, tan interior, 911T not an E. withdrawn from sale at the moment as nearly 50 offers in the first 12 hours ranging from £1k to £40k sight unseen (brave man). Total resto needed.

Mike

Just spoke to him. Its a sporto and he thinks it could be original engine. No paperwork apart from the V5. He is looking for 60K plus.

People offering £40k without seeing it in person obviously have no idea of the work/cost involved to even get it up to MOT standard let alone a full restoration ...

So, £60k for a brown on tan velour sporto T needing a full resto then? Jolly good.

I got the impression there was a bit of fishing going on. I'm quite sure some of these figures were made up by the vendor and even if they weren't then it's a lot different saying you will pay so much and actually turning up with the money.

The person who will actually know of this car for a proper appraisal of both car and vendor is likely to be DEEMAN. Owners can be a bit different to deal with in that area of Scotland.

Mike

:-)

I'm off with a bottle of malt, two brown trout and my best doric, to see what I can agree with him.

(jokes). But it is cool to know there are still old Porsches parked up under trees in the middle of nowhere though. And this will be a wonderfully kitsch old thing with a good back story, if it is restored to original.

I am puzzled. Different or difficult?? What's wrong with Aberdeen(shire) folk Mike? Being an Englishman I don't have any problems - I still can't understand what they are saying even after 30 plus years!!!! :(
You, being a Sassenach(?), may be prejudiced

But no, I do not know of it so..............

Just another getting on the bandwagon????
I just don't believe what folk will pay these days. Do they really come up with the readies ? If so. more money than sense!

Different, Iain. From experience. From an outsiders perspective (as you point out) I found some (usually the older generation) like to do business in a different way. I think Johnny maybe has the right idea.

I found there was a need to have a good banter on anything and everything (generally the family or the state of the economy) before we actually got down to the nitty gritty. I learned that one has to be patient and not expect to just dive in, do the deal and move on out in double quick time. Oh, and of course, there can be very little movement on price so don't expect a 'deal'. Usually very firm on price.

When I phoned this morning I got the same conversation as I was expecting. Not much chat on the car itself, more about the state of 'pushy' buyers and how far down the list I was in the pecking order. I was told to phone back in a week and "I'll let you know if it's still available and what the price is". Took me fifteen minutes to get the rough details of the car. (Posted above).

Regards
Mike
