Re: 356 ignition switch question
My friend has a 61 t5 and a K type ignition. Can anyone confirm the connections? i.e. colour wire to which number.

Hi Paul, I think we all have that drawing but it does not show the connections for a K type ignition.

Check out the picture of this one on Sierra Madre. It has the terminal numbers on it.

Re: 356 ignition switch question
Puzzling. Same terminal numbering as a headlight switch.
Is this ignition switch new or old ?

The switch has a big K in the middle and 8475 under it.

Re: 356 ignition switch question
At this point I'd be asking on the 356 Registry but you've got to be a member to post and electrical enquiries like this are invariably met with the suggestion that you buy Joe Leoni's book of 356 electrics.
Joe's book is the definitive guide but it comes in A B and C editions and I only have the A version. I'll have a look this evening when I get home from work and see if there's a reference to your switch.
Alternatively ask your question over on ABCGT, they're a helpful lot and you don't have to pay to post.

Re: 356 ignition switch question
Are you sure about that number ?
I think you'll find '8475' is a headlight switch (as Mike hinted) - the ignition switch usually fitted to T5 models was '8275' ...
