When someone steals your work...

Post by jamie »

... and replaces the coolest 912 on planet earth, with a drawing of Magnus Walker's car :(

Joking aside, this is straight-up copyright infringement and, as anyone who works in the creative industries will appreciate, is the cheapest of cheap shots.

To add insult to injury, this bloke is also selling these on his website at 50 Euros a pop.

That poster is clearly 'inspired' (?) by the photograph.
Went through a lot of this in some of my teams design work when I worked, esp over the last 10 years. Principal competitor copied so much.

The essence of the photo is in the poster (imho).

I've got a few originals by Tim, really nice guy- perhaps we should drop him a line about this ?

That was my immediate thought too, its a bad attempt at a Tim Layzell piece! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery i guess.
And I would agree that the artist used the photo image as the basis for his composition.

Must be annoying Jamie. But clear enough who has the talent.

Darren -love that. Just going to go back to the Mongrel thread now and make sure I've stolen all your ideas - don't want to miss any.

Very close but there are enough differences there to struggle with a copyright infringement case. Frustrating.

The middle bit is a 912. It has carbon wings front and rear, carbon doors, bonnet, decklid, roof.

It's running slicks and a Cup motor.

Built by my friend Hayden (Wevo gearshifters etc) for a guy who wanted to do some autocrossing.

Batshit.
