I've got 6 vehicles being loaded now. In between agreeing the shipping costs and transferring the payment the real cost went up by 5%.

I have 2 cars coming in. From the time we agreed shipping charges until they invoiced I was down £120 on the interest rate change.

It will be interesting to see how Customs rate the value? (Using the interest rate at date of purchase, or on the day in November this year the cars land)

I experienced them using the date the car landed back in March this year. I challenged this as it should be logically based on date the funds got transferred to seller. Car was landed 7 weeks after I bought it in Australia , currency rate had dropped 10% meantime for pounds into Aus dollars.
They accepted that and I got a refund based on the paperwork from my bank.

Yep, got caught on the big currency fluctuations when we moved back to Australia in 2005, between agreeing price on the house sale and the money arrived in my account, it was $100,000 less than it was a few months prior. Bad news bears.

Do you mean interest rate or exchange rate? I can't see how the daily interest rate is relevant at all to importation.

It'll make the sums a lot easier when the pound, the dollar and the euro achieve parity.
