Tread carefully; this is from 2009:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche- ... ost4755591
Vin # 9113601316
The car was re-bodied between the 1973 and 1985 - the body was from a 1973 model year 2.4 T. The car has the Porsche factory stamped RS VIN# welded into the new shell.
The original gearbox to this chassis # was exchanged for a new 915 gearbox by the Porsche factory.
The engine, whilst a correct rebuilt 2.7RS motor, is not the engine that it left the factory with, and is therefore not 'numbers matching'.
Porsche historian & researcher, contact me for Kardex through 1969 model year.

The USA description reads with more clarity than the UK one.

It is a hot rod?
It will always be second tier, but looks a nice car to have, but not a real 'first 500' car?

Is there any cache in it being the "Pesto" car, surely one of the great threads of all time ;)
Cheers

No price (as always) but if it's not horrendous money, and if it's got an honest and seemingly well documented history (albeit on a forum) I agree it will never be worth top money but with prices going the way they are it could still be an investment for someone longer term..

Either way, as a car (and I appreciate 2.7RS's for the most part aren't really treated as cars any more) its a nice looking thing - if you want something to drive around, and don't give a damn about people turning their nose up at its chequered past, then why not.. ..if you found yourself at the altar with sienna miller, and someone in the front row reminded you her list of previous conquests I doubt you'd run away!

Who was the 'highly respected person in Europe's RS community (that) was requested to do an impartial 'EXPERT WITNESS' report and investigate its precise provenance.' ?

No matter, I see it now.
