I say if it looks like a 993, finish the job and buy another aircooled. mark my words 993's are a gold mine in the next year. Not the most desirable of Porsches, but Germany is just now starting to buy them back. If history repeats they are double in less than 12 months

just realised I had never responded back to this thread here - thanks for all the inputs, and great to know fellow enthusiast here!
Bought the car, but didn't have a real garage & workshop to go with it at the time. Fast forward from 2016, this project is now officially underway that it will make sense to create a separate resto thread! Stay tuned!

This sort of thread warms my heart. I shall refer back to it for comfort every time I’m getting stressed that I’m not making fast enough progress on my stuff.
