Re: Goodwood Breakfast Club - Thoroughbred Sunday - 7 Aug
Is it worth agreeing a meeting point / time so we can all catch up over breakfast or would that be not maverick enough?

There's a thread about lawn mowers - I wouldn't worry about keeping up appearances!

Oddly, today I ordered a rear crane hoist for my Iseki TB1700.

A very quiet day, and far fewer cars and people than I expected, there was plenty of room for many more cars. Spent far too long chatting and consequently missed breakfast, we had a very poor sausage bap in the Cadillac Cafe.

Nice selection of cars and not the usual suspects. I passed a convoy of assorted 911s through Milford on the bike around 7.15, and wondered if it was the DDK crew. I got to Goodwood before the long queue for the good coffee and was away again by 9 as I had stuff to do.

Yes, VERY poor turn out.
I was there from 9am until noon. Paddock was only 1/3 full, with plenty of space on the track and few people.
Very disappointing really. So much so I walked around the public car parks in the two fields and found a better selection of cars there!
Pre-booking has killed the attendance. It's the worst turn out in may years for Thoroughbred Sunday.

Probably what I would have most loved to have taken away with me (Darren's Mongrel & Feroz's rep aside):
Random pics:
Had it not been for the company I certainly wouldn't have bothered getting up at 05:00 (certainly not worth it for the breakfast element).

Nice to catch up with a few of you guys - had a great morning, despite it being a bit chilly first thing. Great drive down and plenty of familiar faces once there. And a great drive home with a spot of lunch on the way with friend. Can't fault it!
I for one preferred the smaller crowds and saw that as a positive aspect of the day. It is a shame some lovely cars end up in the overflow car park but the event is so big, it must be hard to organise optimally. Spent more time chating and less time looking at cars.
Only downside is that my son would seems to now prefer a 60s Corvette or Caterham 7 to an early Porsche!!

Think many of those cars had left by the time I arrived (apart from Dazza's, of course )

Saw this and wanted to take my car. I couldn't pre-book on the site, so called the ticket office. Apparently applications close four days in advance. Four F****** days! So you can only take your car if you plan ahead like some sort of planning-ahead-sadsack. Rubbish. I didn't care enough to drive down and park in a field somewhere off site. So I stayed in bed, like a true wildman.
