I shall be leaving about 8 ish from North Staffs, close to junction 15 on the M6.
Any suggestions where we could meet up on the way down?

Phil
Phil, Timo,

If you are going M6, M42, M40 then exit M40 J15 and follow sign to Warwick, as you come off the roundabout you'll straightaway pass the Warwick Hilton on the left and then take the next turn on the right which will take you into the car park of the Warwick Harvester/Holiday Inn Express. I'll be there from 9am. Meeting point is 19 miles/25 minutes down the A429 from this point.

Hashman will hopefully be joining up with us at Warwick too.

I've pm'd you both my mobile.

All in place, deadlines met, rounds done, looks like it's all go.

No judging on my cars cleanliness, doing the Throckmorton on Saturday. Will be based at Holiday Inn so may even get a lay in Sunday.

Looking forward to it.

That is what I'm worried about :)

Anyway Danny is going to be tail end Charlie to make sure we all stay mostly together.

Great day out, good roads, good company, both human and mechanical, lovely weather. Many thanks Neil for organising. somehow I largely failed to get or remember people's real names, especially when they don't match their ddk names! Thanks to Mrs Carl for the navigating! Roll on next one. W

Cheers Neil for organising, was a cracking day. Was really great to meet so many new faces, and drive some great routes (even if a few of us did get a little lost) my journey back was filled with very tentative gear changes but made it back ok in the end.

Here's a few taster pics of the day.

Danny, must admit I'd not noticed that fella doing press ups on your bonnet until I uploaded these pics, hope he didn't damage your paint!

What a wonderful day that was :)
Good turn out, great people and we were blessed with sunshine 8)

A few of us Midlanders met first in Warwick

Image

Then met everyone at the meeting point just up the road from Moreton-in-Marsh.

Image

Image

Then we all headed off convoy stylee......

Image

It was all going so well until about 15 minutes later we managed to confuse ourselves at a roundabout (Marcus!!) and split into 2 groups going two different routes. One of the groups subsequently split into 2 groups too!
So three groups of cars making their own ways to one destination in The Malverns.....

Could we, would we all get there....easy peasy, though the first group did manage to bring the traffic to a halt doing a U turn by the crossroads next to the Malvern Hills Hotel

We all parked up at Gardiners Quarry and popped across the road to The Kettle Sings Tea Rooms.
A great little place.

Hazel and Neil discuss who's gonna lead the way on the second leg

Image

Image

On the second leg to the pub me and Phil got held up at one junction by all manner of vehicles.

Image

We then proceeded in a rather spirited fashion to catch/find everyone else.
We then all managed to cause more traffic chaos in the centre of Braoadway, more U turn shenanigans

We got back on route and the roads then seemed to get thinner and thinner before we finally found the boozer..... Victory!

Image

Lunch at the Plough Inn was great and nice way to end the day.
Hope everyone made it home ok.
Hazel will have to come with Karl on all future drives to navigate and keep us all on the right route as most of us seem to have no sense of direction
Though all our misadventures made it the fun day it was.
Thanks to Sean for the loan of coinage for parking ticket.
Big thanks to Neil for organising the whole day for all of us.

Some great photos Danny - & good to meet you.

Thanks again Neil for organising - another chance to put more faces to DDK usernames - sorry if I didn't get to speak to everybody ...
