Great film... I think he nailed it when he says how much he hates golf... And how he can't think of anything better than taking his car down the PCH with his kid for a cup of coffee and talking about how his car made his afternoon.

Nice video. Perhaps one of the experts can help me. The L = Luxury? Which included extra bits like wood front panel? Seems like a strange base to start a race car from as all the extra luxury bits would of been removed? Plus the engine would of been US spec?

However, I also found this that says that Porsche only prepared a few 911Ls for race so makes it quite an important car

The Americans didn't get the '68S as it didn't comply with their emissions standards.

Instead they got the L which was to all intents and purposes an S but with a 130 hp engine instead of the 160 hp unit fitted to the S.

I suppose if you wanted a new, top of the range 911 in 1968 you bought an L and started fiddling with the engine.
