I always knew there would be times when I regretted selling my 911.

This is one of those.

Lovely looking car. Great movie. :)

Great film... I think he nailed it when he says how much he hates golf... And how he can't think of anything better than taking his car down the PCH with his kid for a cup of coffee and talking about how his car made his afternoon.

Cheers for posting.

Nice video. Perhaps one of the experts can help me. The L = Luxury? Which included extra bits like wood front panel? Seems like a strange base to start a race car from as all the extra luxury bits would of been removed? Plus the engine would of been US spec?

http://www.porschearchive.com/render.cf ... ~1967-1968

However, I also found this that says that Porsche only prepared a few 911Ls for race so makes it quite an important car

"1968 911 L Factory Race Car
Found and rescued from long storage in Finland this very special 911 Factory Competition car has a rich rally and road racing history with the famed AAW Racing Team. This 1968 911L is one of the small batch of Rally cars built by the Porsche Factory for Privateer Competition. As found it remains in very original, as raced, condition"

The Americans didn't get the '68S as it didn't comply with their emissions standards.

Instead they got the L which was to all intents and purposes an S but with a 130 hp engine instead of the 160 hp unit fitted to the S.

I suppose if you wanted a new, top of the range 911 in 1968 you bought an L and started fiddling with the engine.

They need to do a film on Chris' car. It's a perfect story/car for these films!

tell me the exhaust on the car would that be headers and the R muffler? I'm looking for something for my 2.2 and like the sound this car makes but don't want to lose my heat exchangers
