Any gamers on here ?

Post by hot66 »

Exciting day today .... Waiting for my copy of Uncharted4 to drop through the letterbox ..... Must be one of the best series of games after GTA ever

Not sure how I managed to organise Ddk curry night on the same day as the games release though. !

I'm not sure I read this right. Gaming, as in computer games? As in sitting in front of a screen playing computer games? Wouldn't you rather be out in the fresh air, speaking to real people, or driving a real car?

Glad it isn't just me who doesn't get it - I've always assumed it's an age thing so was surprised at Neil's response.

With this thread James you've let yourself down, you've let your friends down, you've let DDK down etc. Etc. Etc.

My 14yr old son must be the exception in his age group as he prefers to be out in the woods on his mountain bike rather than in front of a games console like most of his school mates.

.. I'm part of the generation that grew up on computer games ....

my 1st when I was about 12 was a Sinclair 48K .. some great games back then

jet pack 8)

moved through others , then Nintendo 64 8)

best game was easilly Goldeneye .. we thought the graphics were amazing ( almost 20 years old now !!! )

then through the playstation generations which IMHO resulted in the 3 of the best games ever

Now , if you've never played todays games , they are on another level .. better to class them as interative movies

GTA5 - best game in the world ever ;) Difficult to explain how good this game is

"The Last of Us"... the 1st game to emotionally drain you .. a zombie appocolapse type of game from the perspective of a child and visually stunning.

ANd then the Nathan Drake series of Uncharted ... bit like indiana jones films

James most people think games are just brain dead shoot em ups or driving simulators, unfortunately a certain generation just don't get it.

Take the Assassins Creed series, developed in almost architecturally perfect locations, Venice, London, Tuscany, etc. Utilises historical references within in the story line, it's like immersing yourself into a visual novel, something the Da Vinci Code but playing a part in it.
