I'm no expert but this ad seems weird to me

Post by Canarydelia »

Anyone else seen this ad for a "rare 914 turbo" which to me seems mighty questionable in both detail and authenticity but I'm happy to be told otherwise...

I've never heard of a factory 914 turbo - I think it's a load of old cobblers.

Might even be a scam looking at the non existent feedback

I just logged on to say exactly the same thing ! An OE fit turbo is news to me. I'm sure it's possible he's just repeating what the American salesman told him.

I'm up that way next week - might go for a sniff

I think mines a turbo. Oh hang on that's the heater fan in the engine bay not a turbo. I'm sending that new 914 book back I got last week (the one with Kev's car on the front) I can't find any info on the factory turbo model!

That level of stupidity is not surprising these days. Probably does not know how to do an internet search either.

I've posted a link to the ad on 914world - I'm sure they'll all be chuckling at 'those dumb Brits' but it would be interesting to know the car's Californian history. You can tell it really is a turbo 'cos it shows the badges  but they're not fixed on. Sure there's a logical explanation.

Interesting little collection in that gritty Yorkshire shed - like someone flew over with a bag of cash and came back with some shiny cars.

In one shot, it's another car too (with mismatched wheels)

The "Turbo" version claims to have 911 suspension so it must be the one with Fuchs, the other one has 4 stud hubs.
