Wiring looms
Has any one come across or better still bought/used a loom from this supplier?

Any thoughts would be welcome. Also for those that have replaced their looms I'd be interested to know what route you took (I know that some on here have done the work themselves but that would be far beyond my competence)

Re: Wiring looms
How bad is your loom? I have never had to replace a complete loom, just doing local repairs and re-wrapping as required.

Re: Wiring looms
No personal experience, but Gerard Kroon has a DDK account, username gerakroo.
Search for Kroon shows a few DDK-ers have used them:
search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&keywords=kroon
I also remember seeing various reports on early S.
My memory of the overall info was
- good quality
- not cheap
- have to send your harness over to them, so that the more specialised connectors can be re-used

Re: Wiring looms
I sent my main loom to them to get refurbished. When I got it back, one of the indicator connectors fell off and was loose in the box. But what was worse is after fitting the loom I found there was a section of the yellow starter motor wiring missing still, must have been from the removal of the immobiliser. The loom was taped up hiding this and proved the harness was not buzzed out.
Re: Wiring looms
Thanks for the comments - I have had a look through the search results and see that there are some other options
Nick - there are some parts that need repair, it's hard to comment on overall condition - it's the unknown factor that is a worry. The concerns being reliability if I'm using it regularly and the cost of fixing it later when the car is back together.
Jase - I will pm you

Re: Wiring looms
I purchased a section of loom from them and the quality was very good - but not inexpensive!
Re: Wiring looms
Hi.
I bought a complete loom for a 67 911S and the quality is first class.
By coincidence it is the cheapest loom they do at itro 1,600 Euro I
thought it was really good value. The loom I had to work with was
absolutely toast so I didn't have much option but I would highly
recommend them.
Andy.

Re: Wiring looms
As I said in my PM to Vimal, I think the issue I had was my harness is a 3.2, they only do harnesses up to SC. I spoke to Gerard and explained I just wanted the harness checking and new connectors where needed. Their new harnesses do look amazing, just a shame they couldn't do me a 3.2 one.

Re: Wiring looms
Hello, my existing engine loom is looking a bit worse for wear after removal. Are there any recommended suppliers or does anybody make them up please?

Re: Wiring looms
I enquired about a 911 loom last year. At that point they did not make anything for Porsche.
