Any Nice G50 3.2s For Sale? Yes, just waiting for a wheel!

Post by FLY 7 »

Would need to tick all the right boxes

- Narrow body Coupe (maybe Cab)
- Rhd, G50, later the better
- Original spec, FSH, low owners
- A1 condition throughout
- Low mileage (<60k mls)
- Right colour combo (not black, white or dark blue, and not white interior)
- Sensible pricing

Yes, bit fussy, but I know there are quite a few such cars around, in long term ownership, and from time to time owners do think about selling, but are nervous of advertising to the masses or getting lynched by the trade.

I thought the red Coupe Canford Classics sold recently looked like a very honest example.

911 Virgin had a couple of nice cars . Not 60k miles and unusual colours but very good condition.
The force is strong in this one ......

Sub 60k is going to be spendy, I wouldn't get too hung up on that. Some 3.2s have had top end by that time, others haven't. It's all down to the type of driving they've been exposed to, basically something that plodded up and down the local strip is possibly going to be troublesome. Whereas something that has been spanked on long journeys is probably a better prospect.

Low mileage is a personal thing (I know opinions vary), but ideally looking for c.40k(ish).

There are probably more around than many people realise, but of course, when certain dealers get hold of them they slap on a big premium.

40k miles you say?

How about 41k? You won't be happy with the price, however:

Incidentally, I enquired after the same from the same dealer approx. 18 months ago (is that correct Nick?) and was told the price was a firm £50k. I couldn't my head around that price for a 3.2 let alone the current!

Does look a nice car though.

Took me a while to find the right one. I wasn't looking for a white one, but when I saw it I was hooked.

I originally wanted silver but ended up buying one in Grand Prix White as it was in far better condition than the silver option available. Have very fond memories of that car, my first Porsche.

That car is nice, but you're right, the price isn't. However, I would expect to pay a fair premium for the right car.

Quite nice looking Cab here http://www.luxclassics.com/assets/lux-c ... riolet.pdf

Coupe or Cab, I would remove the SE spoilers.

I've got a red 3.2 Coupe with linen leather, 80,750 miles in excellent condition FSH which I might sell at the right price !

I've owned it for about three years and hardly use it as I've got too many cars and bikes and not enough time.

Drop me a pm with your e-mail address if you'd like some photos

Thanks for that. Your car sounds nice and Guards Red is one of my favoured colours. However, I've got a fairly specific requirement with the other criteria, so give me some time and I may come back to you.

I know somebody who I do not count as a friend as I do not agree with what he does...

He has a 'lovely' 38k 3.2 in red with black leather...he thinks it is worth 'top money'. However his speedo never seems to be working - like never!! Anyone looking at the car would instantly hear alarm bells as frankly the interior is just not tidy enough for such a low mileage car - my guess is this car has at least double what it shows

Don't get too hung up on mileage and quite honestly the full service history isn't always as important as will all make it. What is a car like condition wise and what maintenance / repair work has been carried out in more recent years. Obviously the cars that have price tags with the best part of 100k showing are going to have a perfect history, low owners and low miles - not sure they are the best cars out there though..??..

Did see that and enquiring. Not keen on the red centres or red carpet, but those could be fixable.

WRT mileage, agree it needs to be checked and verified, so far as it can be. Back in the 89/90 'boom' several dealers with "deliver mileage" 911s - specifically Speedsters and Turbos - disconnected the speedometers. I doubt if it's widespread but does happen.

We have a very pretty 89' 3.2 Sport. Available in Mid-April
Baltic Blue/Linen
120K Miles give or take a couple I can't recall ATM
Part history circa 7-8 years with known Porsche Indy. (I'm working on tracking the rest down)

Freshly rebuilt engine. With ARP Studs and ARP cod rod bolts
Suspension re-bushed and uprated to Bilstein legs.
Absolutely standard spec in appearance.

Save for...
7'&8 Fuchs rather than 6&8 original
Turbo steering arms
Goodrich brake lines (Stainless, black sleeved)

Its had a pic documented nut and bolt restoration. inc bare metal respray.
inner/outer sills replaced with Porsche panels.

It looks like a new car.
It will have a warranty on Engine build and Resto/Paintwork.

I was building this to keep so its only had the best bits!
It was also built to be driven...hence the O.E.M.+ uprated bits
Final spec can be altered.
(Not available for viewing until Mid-April ish as the interior is still out and Fuchs are away with a DDK Stalwart.
and as you would expect after a resto it's getting some shakedown miles on it before offered for sale)
