the car is a testament to the anally retentive!
That’s quite the compliment! Shame I missed it, sounds wonderful (to the anally retentive)!

How are you finding it to drive? LMC will be a great time to put some miles on it.

Thank you ladies….most kind….I had just collected the car from Tywyford Moors earlier in the day, a well respected early XK specialist that is relatively close to me….(the reason for being in that part of the world will be revealed in a little while as it concerns my 911….but more of that later….)

Anyway….1,000 miles into ownership I wanted a post build check up….getting up early as we have longer days now has become part of my daily routine and getting out out for drives on deserted roads is a highlight of a weekend….

Tywyfords were genuinely most complimentary about the quality of the car….sure…as expected they found a very few issues…but made final adjustments to the suspension and tracking, which I was close to…but that final verification made a difference….the engine had always had an audible tappety noise….and it turned out the exhaust side was miles out….somewhat irritating as that was one of the very few elements I had paid someone to address….

So they returned to me a car that was now just perfect to drive….with an MOT, subtly adjusted carburettor’s and all grease points topped up

It behaves nothing like the instant reaction of my MFI car but it still does shift….and that classic smooth low down torque is fun….complimented by an addictive growl as you get to 3500……4,000 and beyond is sublime

It may not be the kind of car that is for quick winding road blasts…but as a GT it is wonderful….It makes me smile all the time and seems to have a positive affect on someone every time I go out for a drive….

I am very much looking forward to grand French roads and CLM with you boys….
