I know a few of you DDK'rs were thinking about taking part in this years event (the highlight of my year).

It may be a good idea to apply to http://www.msauk.org for your National B License, £43. This can be done on-line or via post.

This event was at full capacity last year, your license number will be required at time of application along with membership of an MSA approved Club. I'm a member of Bo'ness Hill Climb Revival, £30 per year.

The dates, yet to be confirmed for this year, 3rd & 4th September 2016, £90 per day entry.

As soon as the event is officially confirmed it would be a good idea to book ASAP.

It would be great to have a DDK Group. :bounce: :bounce:

Hi Mike

Thanks :) Definitely hope to see you there. Remember you were advising me on wheels and tyres? Do you have any?

Hi Russ

You can't get technical on me now  Are you meaning the noise out of your exhaust? I don't think they are too strict but don't quote me. There was a car with a 24 litre flame throwing airplane engine .

Have a look at the Boness link that Mike kindly attached above or JWHillracer may give you an idea.

Would be great to see you there.

Margaret

I'm in! Just applied for my MSA B licence..

Entries not open until April. I need wheels and tyres now, I don't think my 4.5s and vintage tyres will keep me out of the scenery. Might try and use the cookies off my SC.

Anyhoo...going to the website, they suggest you add yourself to the mailing list so you know when entries are open..

Also if you send Kenny Baird a message on Facebook he'll send you a sticker!

Dead excited!

Hi Johnny

Brillant :bounce: :bounce:

The second the entries open we need to get applications in. Have you joined a motorsport club? Think it is about £30 for the yearly membership with Bo'ness Hill Climb club.

I know that it can be a pricey weekend especially if some DDK'rs are travelling up from England (entry fees, fuel and accommodation etc)
but it is a fabulous weekend, weather permitting of course!

If any one knows of a set of cookie cutters up for sale, doesn't matter about the condition, as long as they are round, let me know please. :)

I have been trying to decipher the blue book - Margaret do you or any others know what is the minimum race suit and helmet I can get away with? I am happy with something used/cheap, I don't think there is much chance of being engulfed in a fireball..

The blue book talks about FIA 1986 standard minimum, but its hard to find one on ebay with this description, other websites say it just needs to be flameproof.

Can someone guide me?

I quite like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CRG-Go-kart-r ... SwLVZVip-g

Visit the Demon Tweeks or Merlin web sites.
Cheap legal 'uniforms' are available, 'cheap' is a relative term..

You will need race gloves too remember but not shoes.

Prep to the car is minimal, read the Blue Book relevant section.

The BB has the reputation to be baffleling to a great many!

Above all, have FUN. I've been hillclimbing since 1991 and it still is great fun.

Looks very professional and you would look like a race winner even before you turned a wheel with that one on .
