Just getting back to 'other car posts' and always liked this one Andy - great to see the Singer in action and your interior looks great.

[quote="Lightweight_911"]I eventually managed to secure a suitable 400mm steering wheel:

So. once fitted, it completed stage 2 of the interior transformation:

The same wheel as my old Sprint GT, and a loverly thing to twerl...
Great looking car, enjoy!

Time for an update - unfortunately a stupid accident which required minor surgery (involving 25 stitches in a finger) put a stop to working on any of my cars for several weeks (still not fully mended) - hence the lack of new posts in this thread.

The floor covering was very labour intensive requiring making 20+ separate paper templates (using heavyweight lining paper), transferring these patterns to the Hardura & then painting all edges of each individual piece with satin black paint - to reduce the tendency to 'shed' felt fibres.

After experimenting with stitched vinyl edging to the first couple of sections, I decided to abandon that approach & simply butt adjacent pieces & glue them down.

Apologies for the poor quality pictures - my digital camera has 'disappeared' & I had to resort to using my phone camera ...

Photos should speak for themselves & are roughly in chronological order:

Next on the agenda was changing all of the (dark red) vinyl-covered interior trim panels to match the seat colouring - as mentioned in an earlier post, when I ordered the Zagato-style seats from Italy I requested some additional vinyl for that purpose.

The relevant parts to be recovered comprised rear side panels, parcel shelf & door cards - plus trimming underneath the rear window.

Excellent work! Love those seats too, so period, and so unlike anything modern, and unlike anything else!
