Rebuilt the front end of my 67 - Lower Wheel House Panel and front slam panel but the hood latch will not align to the slam panel Receiver
its short by about an inch
I have only put the screws in the wings loosely but I don't think they look right

You pointed your IMG at the library, not the photo
Is this the one you wanted?
Doesn't it mean you've put the slam panel in the wrong place?
The simple things you see are all complicated
I look pretty young but I'm just backdated yeah
The last pic shows the nose of the wing to be very high to the slam. It should be level with it!
I would re measure everything again.
There will be lots of pics on here of that area if you spend a few hours looking.
Does the rear vertical edge of the OS wing fit to the door or it's mounting flange?
The top wing edge should follow the inner wing closely. Yours is steadily rising above the inner edge with the mounting bolt holes, it should follow it.

I agree with your post it dives away too soon, the side panels are new from restoration design. I bolted the panels on top of the old rusty ones using 3 of the wing holes to ensure positioning so very confused why it wouldn't all go together perfectly.
Things can and will move when welding unless you have a stout jig to keep reference points in place.
If the inner wings are new and fully welded then you have a difficult problem to overcome not just the wing tops but the front suspension pane with the mounting points could also be high.
This assumes the old out wings can be relied on to act as a 'jig'.
Have you put the doors on, aligned to the rear wings and then re aligned the front out wings to the leading edge of the door front?
A few mm out at the door leading edge and amplify to the kind of mis alignment in the pics.
Usually, if good, the doors are used as the check for fit, rear wing, sill and front wing.
If you can, suggest you use the doors as the jig and check the fit then to the inner wings, ignore the slam panel just for now. I can't help thinking the new slam is not far enough forward or may be tilted back at the top.
If you search the web you will find a very very good drawing from the workshop manual with all the dimensions you need to check these inner panels to a datum, I used this when I welded mine for 8 months back in 1988 without a jig.
You have to be very careful of things moving or twisting as you weld along.
Hope this help and not hinder if you have been through these thoughts already.

I have thought of that and measured against the drawing I have of the outside of the inner wing, the length is fine from the "Plan 0" position however the drawing does not give any measurement relative to the Wing bolt position height (without me scaling the drawing)
I am coming to the conclusion over two sleepless nights the new panel is angled differently to the original panel
I believe (unless you think differently) that I need to cut the new panel out and align the new panel, Wings and Slam panel all at the same time?

....the measurement down vertically from the wing bolt position is 205mm to the 0 datum.
This can been seen on the schematics on the RD website.

Not the easiest of drawings to decipher !! I used the one off the RD website I think the important thing for me to check is the Slam angle is at Zero Degrees??
Yes! They take some looking at at first!
Looking at the drawings, it certainly looks like the slam panel is set at 90 degrees to horizontal 0 datum. If you look at other measurements that are not true vertical, they are normally highlighted by a broken line across them which then gives a measurement of how far off vertical they are. The slam panel looks to be vertical for sure.
I've found the RD drawings very helpful when checking my short front suspension pan install. They all available under the 'Media' tab on the top of their homepage.
