I am trying to buy 4 old Porsche steel wheels from a fellow ddk-user, but I need to have them shipped to me in Denmark. It seems wheels have been added to the list of prohibited items by a lot of the usual UK shipping services like Parcelforce, DPD, etc:
https://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk/prohibitedItems.php
Does anyone know of a UK shipping service able to ship a set of steel wheels/ rims overseas at a reasonable price?
It makes no sense to me why wheels are prohibited items? Maybe aluminium wheels risk scratches or other damage during transport, but could that really be the reason why all wheels can´t be shipped?
Lots of sellers of wheels on ebay.co.uk offer international shipping. But maybe the terms for private parcels are different from the terms offered for professional shops?
Thanks in advance for any advise.

no distinction between wheels and rims?
've searching on the UPS website too and found an estimated cost of 200 GBP for 4 separatly packed rims.

Just call them something else, lamp bases or plant pot stands. Nobody's going to open it to look

Hi Thomas,
Try Speedshift.co.uk. They are a brokerage service based in Wales but seem to use a range of suppliers so will know which one to use for wheels. They have a special service for heavier items and do both parcels and pallets. They'll even supply the pallet if needed.
When I last used them for car parts it was for 4 wheels but it wasn't out of the UK. They definitely do international though.
Good luck,
Al
