Indeed.
His speech was part of a bigger event of people talking about how they became successful, but you do have to give credit to what he has achieved materially in his life so far.

I had a friend who left for LA in the early 70's with his very glamorous wife. He sold castings in the black country in the UK, she worked for Avon (Calling)
Last I heard, 10 years ago, he employed 15 people in a small cosmetics distribution business in LA and is very comfortable.

Success is not all about how big your company is or how much money you have, ok maybe it is in the States.

I'd say Magnus is more 'successful' than most as he has been enable to enjoy his passion to the max.

Of course he could be as miserable as sin so who knows. One mans success is another mans failings...especially after you've just driven into your own trailer

Indeed, but. The USA is about the arterial things, money, property, status and all that celeb stuff.
For many these are the elements of happiness, most times emotion does not come into it.

He has money, looks cool, has property, has 20 or more Porsches and gets invited everywhere over the world so is a celeb.

I can think of many ( young) kids at UK schools I've been to where that lot is the coolest thing ever on a CV. He has everything, and a supportive wife too!
Beckham is the top of their list.

I like Beckham. Talented and he's handled it well

Magnus has done well. Doesn't look cool though unless you're attracted to soap dodgers

Like many, I was bored of the Magnus media marketing circus long ago. Unless you've got zero imagination, the message isn't that radical - he's a free-spirited guy, who has ended-up where he is now by ignoring the expected norm and focusing on the things that he enjoys.

That's not so unusual in early-Porsche circles, but it's clearly a fascinating for god-awful-corporate-hell-suitwankers to flog in the name of marketing etc.

Free of that, I reckon he'd be great company.
